Hey there!

Guess what i'm going to talk about today (clue: it's written in the title)

SLUM SURVIVOR

Slum survivor was AWESOME! We stayed in a slum for 24 hours to raise some money for the Stepping out in Uganda mission trip.

For those who watched Doctor Who on saturday, you may have noticed that new daleks are rather colorful.

And as soon as I saw that, there's only one thing i thought of:

IN OTHER NEWS...

-The St.Mark's Youth album (now called "Living for your cause") will be released within the next couple of weeks. All the recording has been done, the mixing is halfway done and the design of the album has entered it's final stages.
I've heard 7 of the 13 songs on the album and they sound AMAZING!

-The Holidays are here, so for the next two weeks, I am doing .... nothing!
Well, I say nothing! I'll probabably be loads of stuff. But not schoolwork!

-I've been to see "How to train tour Dragon" and it is AWESOME! It was so good, in fact, that i'm going to see it for a second time tommorow! If your lucky (and I don't forget), I will post a review of it here!

Do you remember when I used to Blog?

It seems like ages ago that I last posted on here. What? It was over 3 months ago!!! That can't be right! BAD BAD blogger!

But I've come back at one of the most amazing times of year. EASTER!!
Chocolate, sweets, good friday and Easter monday!
And the return of my favourite TV show, Doctor Who!

How Exciting!!!

But because I haven't posted here in so long, I've got so much news to tell!

The Uganda mission trip, Stepping out in Uganda, is getting me excited!
In 90 days time, I will probably be queuing up in some airport in Paris, Amsterdam or Kenya.
Yes, that's right! For price's sake we have decided to do a massively long trip to get to our final destination. Paris to Amsterdam, Amsterdam to Kenya and then finnaly Kenya to Uganda. And then on top of that, we have a bus ride from wherever we land to Masaka which is where we will be staying.
So everything is Crazy!!

Fundraising for the trip is coming along nicely:

In a couple of weeks, our self made Youth group album is being "released" and Slum Survivor will be happening on the 10th and 11th of April.

Christopher's birthday is on Monday and I'll try and get some photos of that to post here.

And I think that's it for now!

I'll try and post a bit more often.
And don't forget that Doctor Who is back on TV on the 3rd April 2010 at 6.20 (UK Time) on BBC ONE

What? That can't be right!! My calendar has just informed me that we are the 13th December.
And according to my blog, my last post was on the 27th October.
Now that can't be right!!

Anyway, Christmas is approching!
Presents are being wrapped!
Carols are being sung!
And the traditional Nicky's Novelties Christmas countdown has been forgotten!

9 weeks 'til Christmas!!!!

It's October. It's in the middle of the Thanksgiving holidays. It's relatively good weather.

Even though all this is true, I cannot help getting excited about Christmas. As the crazy people start doing they're christmas shopping and the local shops start putting out Christmas displays, the preparation of the christmas programme at St.Mark's is underway and everyone is buzzing.

But as Christmas looms closer, normal events are still happening. I went to Pierrefonds this weekend which was 26h of fun filled, basketball playing, music making, people meeting time of awesomeness. It was so awesome that even though I packed and charged my camera especially for this post, I completely forgot and instead of bringing you loads of cool photos from Pierrefond, here is a picture of a monkey.
In other news, it's the holidays, here in "Le Destination Exotique" that we call France.
10 Days of loads of spare time to do what I want.
But, because I am such a hardworking person, I have decided to dedicate my time doing the things that I don't have time during the school periode.

Yes, It's official. Stepping out in Uganda is a mission trip for the Youth Team of St.Mark's. We are going to go for three weeks to UGANDA.

What???? September??? Already???

It's that time of year again.

That time of year where chaos reigns, where hundreds of kids unwillingly leave the comfort of their couches and where hundreds of parents worry, panic and do paperwork.

Ahhh. September.

I actually quite like September. There's something odd

ly satisfying about starting over in a new year with new people and new teachers. It's also an exiting time where everybody decides to do things a different way, decides to make things better and decides to have a big ambitious project.

That's exactly what's happening at church with the Kingdom Training day in October, the brand new Youth Team and the ambitious project of going to Uganda for mission work. Who's idea was that?

Ahh. September.

September is the month where you've just come back from a long holiday and you're looking forward to Christmas.

Ahh. December. No.. Wait... We're still in September.

Soul Survivor '09

This is the basic recap of Soul Survivor '09.

*Yawn*

Amazing!!!!! Just Amazing!!!!!

Worship: Amazing

Teaching: Amazing

Weather: Amazing

Food: not to bad.

*Yawn*

Well, OK. A lot more happened than that.

The brand new songs from Tim Hughes, Ben Cantelon and Matt Redman were blaring out of every tent and you couldn't walk a minute without seeing a guitar. The good old games like "Zip Zap Boing" and "G'Day Bruce" made a return to the scene as well as brand new games such as "Werewolf" and "Ultimate Lazy". The meetings in the big top led by Mike Pilavachi and Andy Croft, literally shook the floor. The sun shone all the way through the week so that we didn't even have to find out how bad our tents were. New songs were written such as "Be a VIP" and "C'est la vie, c'est Paris" by some friend of Nathan's who turned up at our campsite with a guitar and a lot of time to spare. More pasta was cooked so that we could eat. Frisbees were thrown and lost, footballs were kicked at 3 in the morning and taken away by the stewards, loads cards games were played such as "Kems" and "La Bataille Corse", new songs were sung constantly such as "Beautiful" and "Jesus saves". Met some new friends, got together with some old friends and hung out with all the other firends. Walks were taken very early in the morning and food was taken late at night. Spiritual and Theological conversation took place round a small light and many lives were changed.

I'm back, well actually I've been back for a while.

New Wine was absolutely AWESOME!!!!

Unfortunately, I didn't take that many photos and the ones I did take were not that good anyway.

New Wine 2009

New wine '09 is finally upon us and it's going to rock!!! It hardly seems a year since we last trudged through deep mud and rain just to sing and dance in a big tent. In 5 days time, I have to put a tent up in a campsite in somerset (most possibly in the rain). But hey, we're going to have fun.

I'm going to England tommorow, so will not be posting on here but afterwards I will post all my photos on the album.

Hey all.

Couple of things that I have been doing for the past week or so.

Firstly, I have been on our Church weekend away at Houlgate.

It was awesome and we had loads of fun. You can see those photos here.

And Yesterday I went with the YOUTH GROUP to PULS'IF which was incredible. Had a brilliant time worshipping GOD in french. Photos here.

I'm grabbing my time of internet before it fails.

I returned home at 2am on saturday and found out that the internet connection is now dodgy.

Spain was brilliant but at the moment, no photos because I can't upload them.

At last it's the holidays!!!

And as you know, from the 2nd to the 9th of may, I'm off to spain.

And dad decided it would be a good idea to give me my Birthday present (very) early.

It's rugby time!!!!

At last, my favourite time of the year. The chance to sit down and watch the Six Nations Rugby tournament.

There's not much else going on: The Spanish trip with my school is in preparation (can't wait), tonight we're going to a party to say farewell to a much loved family of our church (they're going to Rugby, what a coincidence) and in a week's time, the holidays.

I know it's been a long time since my last post, but school has been exhausting lately!

I've been on holiday in England for the past couple of weeks :) Camping :(

Happy holidays!!!!

A lot's been happening recently, well, I think.

The burma t-shirts that I mentioned in an earlier post, have been printed and are being sold at St.Mark's church Versailles (website of church in the link section), we've had a couple of days out (france miniature, Poissy and Paris) and we've all been to an American independence day party where dad won a t-shirt, (picture below) by spitting a watermelon seed .

For an extra special treat (and sheer boredom of the days when i wasn't spitting seeds or sitting in an underground all day) I have looked around in my library and put together a list of my top ten books (that i really recommend)

10- "Secret Seven" series by Enid Blyton - Very good read

9- "The story of Tracy Beaker" by Jaqueline Wilson - Incredibly funny and witty

8- "Molly moon and the incredible book of hypnotism" by Georgia Byng - Strange but brilliant, wouldn't recomend the sequel

7- "The Famous Five" series by Enid Blyton - Brilliant entertainment for younger children

6- "Truckers" by Terry Pratchett - Innovative and interesting but wouldn't recommend the sequels (maybe it's just me)

5- "Johnny and the bomb" by Terry Pratchett - very entertaining

4- "The chronicles of Narnia" by C.S Lewis - a Classic must read

3- "The Northern Lights" by Philip Pullman - I haven't finished this book but so far so good

2- "Stormbreaker" by Anthony Horowitz - brilliant and the sequels are worth the time too

1- "Harry Potter" series by J.K Rowling - Brilliant, interesting, loads of back story but not to everyone's taste

Please tell me if there are any more books to read and i'll try and get them

This is a birthday trip, I did with my friends to a tree adventure:

by the way, the burma trip with the youth in october that I mentioned in my last post has been canceled due to the recent violence in the country, but we are still fundraising to help refugees in burma and I have won a recent t-shirt design competition which will be imprinted on t-shirts and sold at our church.

It was my brother's birthday on saturday.
He was very happy when he woke up (at 5.30 in the morning) and ripped open his presents:
- couple of books
- A nintendo DS
- A wii game
- And two DS games

Two days previously I bought myself a DS and he was Mega surprised when he saw mine.
afterwards we played all day and had a brilliant day.

During the past week my computer has stopped working. After a considerable amount of time and two Windows xp re-installations we thought that the best way of stopping the problem is to get a new hard drive. In the meantime I'll be using the other family computer (so posts may be less frequent.)

My brother's birthday is coming up soon and I am going to get his birthday present next week. He is in for a big surprise (I'm not going to tell you here, just in case he reads it).
He will be eight on the 5th of april, so a birthday post might be scheduled around that time.

I went to Chamrousse which is near Switzerland in the French Alps near Grenoble.
I went skiing every day and I achieved my 2nd Star Award which is the 3rd award.
It was very cold and windy. We had snow ball fights in the afternoon and I had to climb a 700 metre steep hill to reach our chalet.

You scroll down, choose the match you want and choose stream #1 (it's the one that works best)
Follow the instructions at the top of the screen, it will tell you to download Sopcast or TVU, (click on SAVE, it doesn't work with OPEN)

everyone fine here trying to get back into the old routine
Emilie has started school and she his making loads of friends

Preperations for my skiing holiday are well underway
I can't believe there's only 3 weeks to go

I love Christmas !!!

Today was the beginning of the school holidays, which means that I'll be staying in bed until ten every morning exept christmas eve, which will be the unwrapping of the most exiting present of this year. We will get the rest of the presents on christmas day.

This week marked the start of the preperations for my skiing holiday with the school.
There Stuff to buy, forms to fill out, documents to pick up...
It's all very exciting
